Stop Paying Your Debt

I used to be an avid reader, reading around 50 books a year when I was keeping track (not a lot compared to some people that I’m related to), but the last couple years I have been too sick to read.  I’ve tried but I’m not sure if I have finished a single book in all that time.  To keep my brain alive all those months I started listening to podcasts and audio books while I’m walking and in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep but I’ll admit I’ve listened to more of the former than the later.

I’m an addict.

It’s a good thing I finally discovered  Podcast Addict so I can more quickly and easily feed my addiction.  Isn’t technology awesome??  I have immediate access to all my favorite podcasts and it keeps them organized for me and automatically bookmarks where I’m at in all of them.  That’s a nice feature since my life is all about getting interrupted every five seconds.  🙂

Two of my favorite podcasts are James Altucher and Ask James Altucher because of his wacky ideas.  It’s so nice to hear someone saying something new and interesting for a change.

So tell me what you think of this idea.  If you are in over your head with debt, stop paying it.  Stop paying your mortgage.  Stop paying your credit card debt.  Stop.

I will never do that because in 20 years I have never had any debt besides a mortgage and I got rid of that last fall but I see a lot of people struggling and I wonder if maybe the best thing to do is stop.  Just stop.

Stop the game that everyone has convinced you to play.  Stop caring about your credit score.  Stop buying stuff.  Stop getting into debt.  Stop paying your debts.  Just stop.

It’s an interesting idea.
